Modern Education in benedictine Tradition

For more than 1000 years the Abbey of Niederaltaich has shaped education and culture in the region. From the very beginning this education was based on a holistic concept of the individual. This means that the intellectual ability, religious feelings, creativity and social competency of every single young person is encouraged and supported to promote his personal growth and progress.

Training and education at St. Gotthard High School feature the wide range of subjects that a state recognized public school has to offer, the promotion of life values through a rich opportunity for religious exploration, a large number of creative musical and sports activities, and shared learning and leisure time in an all-day school under the sole supervision of the teachers of the school.

St. Gotthard High School is a state licensed high school independently owned by the Benedictines of Niederaltaich. It offers two tracks: music and languages. Both tracks allow for a choice between English or Latin as a first foreign language.
