Most of the monks in Niederaltaich live according tot he roman rite, which is the customary way to celebrate church services in the Catholic Church.

They strive to cultivate the richness of tradition of western monasticism, as well as to integrate liturgical developments since Vatican Council II. This means that in the four daily times of prayer, the traditional Latin is used (in Vespers and on Feastdays), as well as German (in Morning Song, Noontime Prayer and Compline on normal days). In the daily celebration of mass Latin chorale and German hymns both play a role.

According to the time of day and the time of year, church services take place either in the simplicity of the smaller cloister chapel or in the richly decorated Baroque basilica.
